Our spacious reception rooms and picturesque garden are surrounded by uninterrupted open countryside. Situated in the tranquil hamlet of Laverton. Wheelbrook Mill has convenient access to Bath and Frome, both of which offer a wide range of restaurants, shops and amenities.
The church of Church Close has disappeared and is thought to have been robbed of its stone to build the later mill at nearby Iford (Iford Manor is open to the public and is well worth a visit you can reach it on foot).
In the village of Hinton Charterhouse we are lucky to have two Inns, a village shop and post office, a twelfth-century church, and cricket pitch!
The George – Norton St. Philip – this stunning inn is over 700 years old, offering a wide range of local beers, good dining and spectacular views from the beer garden. This Grade 1 listed building is situated in an idyllic setting. Norton St. Philip is a real find as it has come through the centuries remarkably undisturbed.
The Rose and Crown is a free house but does have a separate restaurant. It serves real ales and a large selection of wines and has a good range of freshly cooked food served in the bar and restaurant.
The Stag Inn is also a free house that offers real ales, including Bass, Butcombe and a Guest Ale, and a good selection of wines. Good quality food is available midday and in the evenings.
And just a very short drive away at Wolverton is The Red Lion, Recently refurbished, you’ll find a warm welcome and excellent facilities. It’s still very much a traditional pub selling home cooked food and local beers. It has a small locals bar where dogs are welcome (in the Winter you can enjoy a drink by the log fire) as well as a 40 seater eating area.
